Mythology in Darkness

Mythology in Darkness is a guided tour at Thorvaldsen Museum, held on selected Tuesdays in October, November, December, January and February - after closing time, when regular visitors have left.

The lights are turned off, and with lanterns in hand, participants move through the museum's small corridors while selected sculptures are spotlit and their mythological figures and stories are told. The inspiration is historically grounded: from letters and diaries we know that Thorvaldsen himself held nocturnal torch-lit tours in the Vatican Museums' sculpture collections.

There are limited places, and tickets must be purchased in advance via the link. The tour takes place at Thorvaldsen Museum, Bertel Thorvaldsens Plads 2, 1213 Copenhagen K.
