Thorvaldsens Museum on Slotsholmen was built to house the works and personal collections of the Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen. The building, completed in 1848 and designed by M.G. Bindesbøll, is one of the finest examples of Danish neoclassicism - its colourful fresco facades make it a landmark in its own right. Inside you find sculptures, drawings, antique objects and Thorvaldsen's tomb.
