David - Voices of the Street

David shares his story of curiosity, addiction, and recovery on a guided walking tour through Nørrebro. He explains how curiosity-not recklessness-first drew him to drugs, and how he studied the chemistry behind each substance he took. Yet knowledge proved no shield against dependence.

During the tour, David takes you through the punk and street culture scene of Copenhagen where he spent his youth, an environment where hash and alcohol were normalized as part of community life. He breaks down the three main categories of drugs: psychedelics, depressants, and stimulants-explaining why, for example, psychedelics don't create physical dependence while depressants do.

For years, David juggled work and studies while addicted to heroin, hiding it from his family. Eventually he faced his situation and entered treatment. Today he receives substitution therapy-a complex process he wants to share with you on this tour.
