Carina - Gadens Stemmer
Nørrebro, Nørrebros Runddel st., Copenhagen · 209 kr. · ≈ 28 €
Carina grew up with a violent and alcoholic father, insecurity at home, and bullying at school. After her parents' divorce, she lived with her mother, who was her anchor until her death. When her younger brother died of leukemia shortly after Carina's confirmation, she lost one of the few people who truly saw her.
As a young woman, she became a mother, but her first daughter was taken into care weeks after birth. What followed was homelessness, nights on the street and on strangers' sofas, psychological abuse, abandonment, and stalking - and eventually a borderline diagnosis and a prison sentence.
Today, Carina is a Hus Forbi seller, a guide with Voices of the Street, a substitute at a nursing home, and married to the man she loves. On this tour, she shares what it's like to live without feeling at home - neither in yourself nor in society - and why it matters to be met with understanding rather than judgment.
