About

Aarhus Theatre is Denmark's largest regional theatre, housed in an Art Nouveau building from 1900 designed by architect Hack Kampmann. With four stages, a permanent acting ensemble and around 450 performances per season, it covers everything from classical drama and musicals to new Danish writing and children's shows. The building - listed since 1990 - is a landmark in its own right, its facade adorned with carved owls, Danish flora and 11 swans referencing Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales.
