About

Alberte Winding (born 1963) is a Danish singer, songwriter, actress and author - and great-granddaughter of the painter Paul Gauguin. She debuted in 1985 and broke through with the album Lyse Nætter (1991), which sold over 100,000 copies; the title track has since been included in the Danish folk song canon Højskolesangbogen. With more than 20 albums to her name and the Danish Music Awards honorary prize in 2023, she is one of the most enduring voices in Danish music.
