Danish roots and blues band The Blues Overdrive, twice winners of Album of the Year at the European Blues Awards, blend Chicago blues with delta-grooves while honouring the tradition's roots.
Andreas Andersen is a Danish guitarist and the lead guitarist of The Blues Overdrive, a Copenhagen-based blues band founded in 2000. He joined in 2008 and has appeared on every release since, from the 2012 debut album to the 2026 live record *Live Slices*. The band has toured across more than 18 countries and won the European Blues Award for Album of the Year in 2018.
The Blues Overdrive released the live album *Live Slices* (Cherry Records, 2026) - the band's first vinyl record, recorded live in Aarhus for the Danish TV channel DK4, with a guest appearance by blues legend Ole Frimer.
The German music publication RockTimes reviewed *Live Slices* positively in June 2026 and highlighted the album as a convincing live release from start to finish.
The live album *Overdrive Live!* (2017), recorded at Smukfest 2016, won the European Blues Awards' prize for album of the year in 2018.
