Ane Riel (born 1971) is a Danish author whose novels and short stories explore dark fates and outsider lives in small communities. Her writing moves between the ordinary and the grotesque, mixing black humour with deep seriousness. Her 2018 novel Resin brought her international attention and has been translated into numerous languages.
