Balsgaard is a Danish pianist who has played alongside Thorbjørn Risager for over 30 years, going back to their shared roots in the New Orleans-inspired band Rad Gumbo. As a duo, the two strip the music down to voice and piano, drawing on blues, boogie and New Orleans funk.
