Stig Rossen & Vennerne
Stig Rossen and the members of Bamses Venner honour Flemming Jørgensen with intimate acoustic concerts. On Friday, October 9, they perform at Skævinge Kro with a three-course dinner and stories from Bamse's career.
Bamses Venner was a Danish pop and dance band from Aarhus, founded in 1973 by Flemming 'Bamse' Jørgensen, who sang, played bass and wrote most of the group's material. Over nearly four decades they became a beloved institution in Danish popular music, with hits including 'Vimmersvej', 'I en lille båd der gynger' and 'Tænker altid på dig' - the last of which won the Danish Melodi Grand Prix in 1980 and took the band to Eurovision. Jørgensen died of a cardiac arrest on New Year's night 2011, after which the remaining members played a handful of farewell concerts with Stig Rossen on lead vocals. Total record sales exceeded 3.5 million copies, and in 2022 a biographical film about Jørgensen's life was released, directed by Henrik Ruben Genz.
The biographical film 'Bamse', directed by Henrik Ruben Genz with Anders W. Berthelsen in the title role, had its Danish premiere on August 25, 2022 and opened Biografklub Danmark's 2022/23 season.
It was announced that Anders W. Berthelsen himself sings all of Bamse's songs in the upcoming feature film about Flemming Bamse Jørgensen's life.
Flemming 'Bamse' Jørgensen died of a heart attack on New Year's night on January 1, 2011, at the age of 63.
