Bass Drum of Death is an American garage punk band from Oxford, Mississippi, founded by John Barrett in 2008 as a one-man project. Barrett recorded the first two albums entirely by himself on GarageBand, and has since toured with shifting lineups - currently his brother Jim Barrett on guitar and Ian Kirkpatrick on drums. Six studio albums in, the band is a fixture of the lo-fi garage rock underground.
The band released their sixth studio album 'SIX' on September 12, 2025 via Cobraside Records, produced by Jeremy Ferguson (Cage the Elephant).
Bass Drum of Death went on the 'SIX USA Tour 2025' in September-November 2025 with shows in, among others, St. Louis, Indianapolis and Austin.
The single 'Do Nothing' and the music video were released in June 2025 as a preview of the album 'SIX'.
The band's first live album, 'LIVE... and Let Die', was released on June 7, 2024 via Cobraside Records - recorded in Chicago in April 2023.
The fifth album 'Say I Won't' was released in 2023 via Fat Possum Records, produced by Patrick Carney from The Black Keys.
