David Carson is an American graphic designer known for his rule-breaking, grid-free approach to typography and layout. As art director of Ray Gun magazine in the 1990s, he reshaped editorial design and became one of the most influential figures in the field. He is self-taught and received the AIGA Gold Medal in 2014.
