Dorthe Nors is a Danish author born on 20 May 1970 in Herning, whose novels, short stories and essays have earned her a wide international readership. She was the first Danish writer to be published in The New Yorker, and her novel Mirror, Shoulder, Signal (2016) was shortlisted for the Man Booker International Prize. Her books have been translated into 25 languages; she lives in rural West Jutland, the landscape that runs through much of her writing.
Dorthe Nors published the novel "Spænd" (Gutkind, January 2025), her first novel since 2016, with astrophysicist Gunn Haven as the main character.
