Drude Dahlerup is a Danish political scientist and pioneer in gender research, who took part in the Rødstrømpebevægelsen (Redstocking movement) in Aarhus in the 1970s. Now professor emerita, she has spent decades researching gender and politics. Her two-volume work on the Redstockings is the definitive account of the movement.
