Ellen Allien (born Ellen Fraatz) is a Berlin-based DJ, producer and founder of BPitch Control, the label she launched in 1999 that became a cornerstone of experimental techno and electro. Active since the early 1990s - with residencies at Tresor and Circoloco and more than ten solo albums - she has shaped underground electronic music far beyond her home city, running the We Are Not Alone rave series and the Vinylism record-store events alongside her label work.
