En:1 is a Danish duo formed in 2017, with Thomas Birch on guitar and Carina Juul on nyckelharpa. They perform Nordic and French dance music alongside their own folk compositions, keeping arrangements deliberately spare so the nyckelharpa's drone and resonance strings can ring freely against the guitar. Both musicians also play in the folk trio Ragna and previously in Rækværk and Rauna. The duo has represented Denmark at international folk music conferences and was selected for the Global Music Match export programme in 2022.
En:1 was selected as the Danish representative in the international export program Global Music Match 2022, which brings together export-ready folk music artists from around the world.
The duo performed as part of a program with over 30 mini concerts at the Unplugged Music Festival in Viborg.
