Fatima AlZahra'a Alatraktchi is an associate professor in translational biomedicine at Roskilde University, where she studies how bacteria communicate through chemical signals and uses nanotechnology to develop early diagnostic tools. She holds a PhD in nanotechnology and molecular biology from DTU and founded the medico company PreDiagnose. Forbes named her among Europe's 30 most influential under-30 in science and health, and her TED Talk on bacterial communication has reached millions of viewers worldwide. In March 2026 she published the popular-science book 'Besat af bakterier' (Politikens Forlag).
