Hellripper
Scottish black metal band Hellripper performs at Tobakken in Esbjerg.
Hellripper is a Scottish one-man black/speed metal project founded by James McBain in Aberdeen in 2014. McBain writes, records and produces everything himself, fusing black metal with speed and thrash in an uncompromising style rooted in occultism and Scottish folklore. The debut album 'Coagulating Darkness' (2017) earned the band the title 'Scotland's King of the arcane mosh' from Metal Hammer, and the third record 'Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags' (2023) firmly established Hellripper at the forefront of British extreme metal. In 2026, the fourth album 'Coronach' was released via Century Media Records, marking the project's first release on one of the world's major metal labels.
Hellripper announced the autumn tour 'More Goatkraft. More Granite. Europe 2026' with dates in Esbjerg and Aarhus in September 2026, with Necrofier as support.
The fourth album 'Coronach' was released on 27 March 2026 via Century Media Records - Hellripper's debut on the major record label.
Hellripper announced 'Coronach' and released the single 'Hunderprest' with a music video filmed at Damnation Festival 2025.
Hellripper signed a contract with Century Media Records and played the band's first American show at the Hell's Heroes festival in Houston in March 2025.
Hellripper released the single 'Kinchyle (Goatkraft and Granite)' and announced the European 'Goatkraft & Granite' tour for 2026 with Schizophrenia and Sarcator as support.
