Jonas Rendbo is a Copenhagen-born singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has spent over 25 years shaping the sound of Scandinavian soul and neo-soul. International press has dubbed him 'The Godfather of Scandinavian Soul', and he has shared stages with John Legend, Joss Stone, Bilal and Macy Gray, among others. He took home Artist of the Year and Best Video at the 2016 Scandinavian Soul Music Awards in Stockholm. Since 2004 he has divided his time between Copenhagen and London, writing, producing and playing most of his music himself.
Jonas Rendbo released his first full studio album since 2015, Be The Light, via the American record label Purpose Music - and celebrated his 50th birthday at the same time.
Be The Light was selected for the list of the 50 best R&B albums in 2024 by the music media Shatter the Standards.
The single 'Too Much to Mention' from Be The Light was nominated for Song of the Year at the SoulTracks Readers' Choice Awards.
