Lorde
New Zealand pop sensation Lorde takes the stage at Syd For Solen in Copenhagen for a live performance.
Lorde is the stage name of New Zealand singer-songwriter Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, born in Auckland in 1996. She broke through at 16 with "Royals" (2013), which spent nine weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and won two Grammy Awards. Her four studio albums - Pure Heroine (2013), Melodrama (2017), Solar Power (2021) and Virgin (2025) - chart a restless artistic evolution, from sparse electropop to maximalist synth-driven art pop.
Lorde performs at the Syd For Solen festival in Valbyparken, Copenhagen, on August 13, 2026 as part of her Ultrasound World Tour.
Lorde tells Variety in an interview that she does not need a break from creative work and expects to release new music faster than the usual four years.
Lorde's Ultrasound World Tour begins on September 17, 2025 in Austin, Texas, and runs until September 2026 across four continents with 59 shows in total.
The album Virgin debuts at number one on the UK Official Albums Chart - Lorde's first British number one album.
Lorde releases her fourth studio album Virgin on June 27, 2025 via Universal and Republic Records; the album debuts at number two on the Billboard 200.
