Danish roots and blues band The Blues Overdrive, twice winners of Album of the Year at the European Blues Awards, blend Chicago blues with delta-grooves while honouring the tradition's roots.
Louisian Boltner is the drummer of The Blues Overdrive, a Danish blues and roots band founded in Nykøbing Falster in 2000. He joined in 2017 and has since toured with the band across 18 countries, also handling the mix and mastering of the live album *Overdrive Live!*. The band has won Album of the Year at the European Blues Awards twice and has been called a "world-class blues band from Denmark" by the Dutch Blues Magazine.
The British music media Liverpool Sound and Vision reviewed the band's new album *Live Slices* in June 2026 and highlighted Louisian Boltner's contribution to the recording.
*Live Slices* (Cherry Records, 2026) is the band's first vinyl release and is available on major streaming platforms.
The Blues Overdrive conducted a joint tour with British blues legend Ian Siegal in autumn 2025, including stops in Brønshøj.
In April 2024, the band participated in a one-hour concert program on the nationwide TV channel DK4, recorded in Aarhus, which received repeated reruns.
In August 2025, the band performed at Gimsinghoved Festival in Struer on a triple bill program with Walter Trout, among others.
