Martin Olsen is a Danish guitarist, singer and songwriter who founded the blues band The Blues Overdrive in Nykøbing Falster in 2000. As the band's frontman, he has written the bulk of their material, ranging from Chicago blues to swampy delta grooves. Under his leadership the band has twice won Album of the Year at the European Blues Awards - for Clinch! (2016) and Overdrive Live! (2018) - and performed across 18 countries.
The Blues Overdrive released the live album Live Slices on Cherry Records on May 22, 2026 - the band's first vinyl record, recorded for Danish TV on DK4 in Aarhus in February 2024.
Live Slices received positive reviews from European blues media, including Blues Magazine (NL) and Liverpool Sound and Vision.
The Blues Overdrive conducted a Danish tour with British blues artist Ian Siegal in September 2025, with stops in Brønshøj, Randers and Silkeborg.
