Messiah is Georg Friedrich Handel's oratorio from 1741, with a libretto compiled by Charles Jennens from the Old and New Testaments. The work traces the life, passion and resurrection of Christ across three parts. Its "Hallelujah" chorus is one of the most recognisable choral pieces ever written.
