Møgmis is a Danish graphic novel series written by Sophie Souid and illustrated by Thomas Hjorthaab, centred on a manic, revenge-seeking cat living with teenage boy Sivert. Set in the fictional neighbourhood of Engtoften, the story explores friendship, sibling love and fairness from the cat's chaotic point of view. Aimed mainly at young readers, the series has won the Orlapris children's book award twice, in 2023 and 2025.
The ninth book in the series, 'Møgmis 9: A Nine-Lived Cat & a Dog-Cold Funeral!', is released on October 1, 2026 with a Christmas theme.
The fourth book, 'Møgmis - Heaven & Hell! Dead as a Doornail!', won the Orlaprisen 2025 in the Funny category, a prize awarded by a children's jury.
The Møgmis book was selected by a children's jury as one of 15 nominated titles for Orlaprisen 2025.
Author Sophie Souid and illustrator Thomas Hjorthaab met their young readers at BogFesten with readings, live drawing, and a competition to create the most evil 'møgdyr'.
