Munk & Bille is a Danish cross-disciplinary project that merges literature and music into a single live form. At its core is the writing of novelist Johanne Bille - nine books over ten years, including Når mænd forlader mig - set to music by guitarist and producer Simon Ask (Katinka Band) and singer-songwriter Esben Munk, who debuted with the album Højlydt Undren in 2022. Their concerts weave readings from Bille's prose together with newly composed songs ranging from pop to folk ballads.
Munk & Bille perform at Ideal Bar at VEGA in Copenhagen on December 5, 2025 - the project's first full concert format on the Danish music scene.
The debut single "Du Danser Med En Morder" was released in May 2025 and had its live premiere on Go' Morgen Danmark the same day.
In 2025, Johanne Bille is active with two new releases: Mens haven springer ud and Mødet i olivenlunden.
Munk & Bille are booked for a literary concert experience at Rødding Højskole in 2026.
