Mykki Blanco is an American rapper, performance artist, writer and activist born in 1986 in Orange County, California. He rose to prominence in the early 2010s with an abrasive, genre-defying take on hip-hop and is widely regarded as a key figure in queer rap. Openly queer and HIV-positive, Blanco weaves identity politics through his art - across records, essays and poetry. His three studio albums are "Mykki" (2016), "Broken Hearts and Beauty Sleep" (2021) and "Stay Close to Music" (2022), with a fourth due in 2026.
