Danish-Turkish vocalist Hilal Kaya presents her debut album Sümbül at 1000fryd - a fusion of Anatolian singing tradition, modern songwriting, and instruments like oud and bağlama.
Orhan Özgür Turan is an Aarhus-based musician and teacher of Turkish heritage, playing bağlama (saz) and oud. He co-founded the world music trio Hudna - with Yossi Karutchi and Søren Bigum - which has won three Danish Music Awards in the world and roots categories and performed at Roskilde Festival, SPOT and Tønder Festival. In 2017 he was named Roots Artist of the Year at the DMA Roots Awards; his collaborators include Sorten Muld, Cæcilie Norby, Jacob Bro and Dreamers' Circus.
Orhan Özgür Turan participated in the single 'Open Your Golden Gate (Community Song in Gellerup)' with Camilla Dayyani.

Hudna received two awards at DMA Folk 2017: Global Roots Release of the Year for the album Kaynasma, and Orhan Özgür Turan won Roots Artist of the Year.
