Danish-Turkish vocalist Hilal Kaya performs at 1000fryd on Friday, November 13. With roots in the Anatolian singing tradition, she has performed at venues such as SPOT Festival, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Vinterjazz, Resonator Festival, and MIX Festival in Istanbul.

Following close collaboration with the Danish band Kalaha, Hilal has focused fully on her own project. This summer she releases her debut album Sümbül - a work developed with Orhan Özgür Turan, where improvisation and modern songwriting connect Turkey and Herning.

Fredericia-born guitarist Søren Bigum - alias "Piper" - has shaped the Danish music scene as a fixture in Our Broken Garden and as a session player for Peter Sommer and Jonah Blacksmith, among others. He balances stage work at the Royal Danish Theatre with teaching at RMC and his own ongoing solo output.
