Hilal Kaya live
SG25, Haderslev · 180 kr. · ≈ 24 €
On 18 November, Danish-Turkish singer, songwriter and guitarist Hilal Kaya performs at SG25 in Haderslev with her live band. Hilal Kaya works at the intersection of Anatolian vocal tradition, psych-folk, ethno jazz, roots and improvisation.
Many know her from her collaboration with Kalaha, where she contributed to several releases - including with Aarhus Jazz Orchestra - which resulted in multiple Danish Music Award nominations. Since then, she has built a solo career with the singles Perişan (2024), Sultan and Harabe. Sultan was nominated for Track of the Year at DMA Roots 2025, and Hilal Kaya herself for New Danish Roots Artist of the Year. Her debut album Sümbül is released on 28 August 2026, and the Haderslev concert is part of the album tour.
On stage she is surrounded by an orchestra that includes oud and bağlama player Orhan Özgür Turan as well as musicians connected to Jonah Blacksmith, Peter Sommer, Sorten Muld and The Mukherjee Development.
