About

Rolf Thofte is a Danish trumpeter and composer, born in 1988 and raised on the island of Samsø. He picked up the trumpet at 12, drawn in by his father's record collection of Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie, and has since become a regular presence on the Copenhagen jazz scene - playing with the DR Big Band and Kathrine Windfeld's orchestra, among others. In 2015 he co-founded the Samsø Jazz Festival with childhood friend Mikkel Drejer Bertelsen, and in September 2025 he released his debut as a leader, *Martha's Dance*, on April Records.
