Sisters Hope is an award-winning Copenhagen-based performance group founded in 2007 by Gry Worre Hallberg and Anna Lawaetz. Led by artistic director Gry Worre Hallberg, the group works at the intersection of immersive performance, activism, research and pedagogy, driven by the vision of a 'Sensuous Society' - a world shaped by sensuous and poetic knowledge rather than economic rationality alone. Their large-scale formats, including Sisters Academy, Sensuous City and Sisters Hope Home, have earned international recognition; the Danish newspaper Politiken named Sensuous City one of Denmark's five most significant performances.
Artistic director Gry Worre Hallberg received an honorary doctorate from Lund University's Faculty of Humanities at the doctoral promotion on May 29, 2026.
KUNSTEN Museum of Modern Art Aalborg opened a large-scale performance exhibition, where Sisters Hope curated the museum's collection as a reinterpretation of Sisters Hope Home.
Sisters Hope is working to open Center of the Sensuous - a permanent artistic platform and performance installation in Valby, Copenhagen - during 2026.
Sisters Academy opened at Palazzo Naselli in Aragona, Sicily, as part of Agrigento - Capitale Italiana della Cultura 2025.
