Bach and Friends - 12 Preludes with Kasper Staub and Soffie Viemose
Kasper Staub and Soffie Viemose, members of the indie pop band Lowly, perform 12 improvised Bach-inspired preludes in this concert exploring free improvisation and classical form.
Soffie Viemose is a Danish singer and songwriter, best known as a vocalist in the Aarhus-based indie-pop band Lowly, which has released three albums on the British label Bella Union since 2014 and toured extensively across Europe. Alongside the band, she pursues a solo career in electronic music and holds a position as assistant professor at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, where her research focuses on songwriting as a live, performative practice.
Lowly released the single 'Liminal Space' in May 2026 as a preview of the band's upcoming fourth album via Bella Union, planned for autumn 2026.
Soffie Viemose is booked for a solo performance at Vega Lounge in Copenhagen on 27 November 2026.
The Ministry of Culture awarded Soffie Viemose and Jacob Anderskov funding for artistic development activities (KUV) at RMC in 2025.
As part of the KUV project, Soffie Viemose explores how songwriting can be practiced as an open, improvised and performative process in front of an audience.
Lowly released its third album, 'Keep Up the Good Work', on 17 February 2023 via Bella Union.
