The Blues Overdrive is a Danish blues band founded in 2000 in Nykøbing Falster by frontman, guitarist and songwriter Martin Olsen. Rooted in Chicago blues and delta grooves, the band has performed across 18 countries and twice won the European Blues Awards' Album of the Year. Over the years, individual members have worked alongside artists including Paul McCartney, Manfred Mann, Duke Robillard and Lazy Lester.
The band's latest live album 'Live Slices' was released in 2026 on Cherry Records and received positive reviews in international blues media.
The Blues Overdrive contributed two songs to a tribute album for the late Swedish blues artist Sven Zetterberg, recorded with Ian Siegal at Black Tornado Studio in Copenhagen.
The band performed at Gimsinghoved Festival 2025 together with, among others, Walter Trout.
In April 2024, the band was featured in a one-hour concert special on the nationwide TV channel DK4, recorded in Aarhus, which received broad recognition and was rebroadcast several times.
From 2022 onwards, the band toured with British blues and roots legend Ian Siegal, and the collaboration continued in 2023 and 2025.
