The Bulgarian Voices "Angelite" is a Bulgarian women's choir from Sofia that emerged in the early 1990s as an offshoot of the state ensemble behind Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares. The choir is known for its open, piercing vocal sound and the dissonant harmonies typical of Bulgarian folk and sacred music, and has toured the world since its 1987 breakthrough concert in Bremen. They have collaborated with artists such as Huun-Huur-Tu, the Moscow Art Trio and Bobby McFerrin, and have received several Grammy nominations.
The choir is conducting a European autumn tour in 2026 with concerts in, among others, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Austria and Switzerland.
On 21 October 2026, the choir performs at St. Lukas Church in Aarhus as part of the tour.
A previously sold-out concert event at Grundtvig's Church in Copenhagen (30 November 2025) confirmed the concert promoter's continued interest in the choir in Denmark.
The choir is currently led by conductor Katya Barulova and has been renewed with some of the most talented young singers from Bulgaria.
