The Courettes

About

The Courettes are a Danish-Brazilian garage rock duo made up of singer-guitarist Flavia Couri from Brazil and drummer Martin Couri from Denmark, who are also married. The pair met in Brazil in 2013 and have been based in Denmark since 2015, playing a sound rooted in 60s garage, surf and girl-group pop. They debuted with the album "Here Are the Courettes" in 2015 and have since released several records on the British label Damaged Goods, home to acts such as Buzzcocks and Billy Childish.

Bandet spillede på Northern Winter Beat-festivalen i Aalborg i forbindelse med udgivelsen af det nye album "The Soul Of... The Fabulous Courettes".

Steven Van Zandt kaldte albummets sang "California" for verdens fedeste sang.

Cover-albummet "Hold On, We're Comin'" udkom på cd via Cleopatra Records med gæster som The Flamin' Groovies og Johnny Thunders.

Bandet udgav en japansk version af singlen "Shake!" som del af fortsatte udgivelser efter det nye album.

The Courettes har adskillige koncerter planlagt i England i 2026, blandt andet i Southampton, Manchester og på Rebellion Festival i Blackpool.
