The Mousetrap is Agatha Christie's murder mystery play from 1952, in which a group of strangers find themselves snowed in at Monkswell Manor guesthouse while a killer is on the loose. It opened in London's West End on 25 November 1952 and has run continuously at St. Martin's Theatre ever since, holding the Guinness World Record for the longest theatrical run in history. Christie herself expected it to last eight months; in March 2025 it reached its 30,000th performance.
New cast took over at St. Martin's Theatre on 11 May 2026, with Saranna Parlone as Mollie Ralston and Ben Galvin as Detective Sergeant Trotter.
The West End production has been extended and is selling tickets until 3 January 2027.
A major UK tour celebrating the 75th anniversary has been announced, starting in Birmingham on 3 September 2026 and visiting over 25 cities.
On 19 March 2025, the play reached its 30,000th performance in London and received a Guinness World Records certificate for 'longest theatrical run'.
A new cast with Georgina Duncan as Mollie Ralston and Jack Condon as Detective Sergeant Trotter took over the roles from 12 May 2025.
