On the Trail of Time's Riddle
Physicist Troels Harmark traces the evolution of physics from ancient philosophy to modern cosmology in this lecture based on his acclaimed book.
Troels Harmark (b. 1973) is an associate professor and section head for theoretical high-energy, astroparticle and gravitational physics at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. A specialist in relativity, black holes, quantum physics and quantum gravity, he has previously held positions at Harvard University and Nordita in Stockholm. In April 2025 he published the popular science book "På sporet af tidens gåde" (On the Trail of Time's Mystery) with Gyldendal, aimed at general readers with no physics background. His public lectures bring the deepest questions of modern physics to broad audiences.
Troels Harmark participates in Bogforum 2025 with a conversation about "On the Trail of Time's Riddle" together with author Anna Mejlhede.
Niels Bohr Institute announced the publication of Harmark's popular science book "On the Trail of Time's Riddle" at Gyldendal - written for readers without a physics background.
The book was published on April 9, 2025 by Gyldendal and is available as a printed book, e-book, and audiobook.
Harmark gave a public lecture about the book in Copenhagen, interviewed by Christian Kaaber at Fiolstræde 17.
Harmark served as co-author on a peer-reviewed article in Journal of High Energy Physics about Spin Matrix theory.
