Wolves in the Throne Room are an atmospheric black metal band from Olympia, Washington, founded by brothers Aaron and Nathan Weaver. Since their 2006 debut 'Diadem of 12 Stars', they have been central figures in Cascadian black metal - a style that fuses raw Pacific Northwest nature mysticism with the epic structures and aesthetics of Scandinavian black metal. Their 2021 album 'Primordial Arcana', recorded and produced entirely at their own Owl Lodge Studios in the Washington woods, is widely regarded as a career peak.
The band announced 'Knights of Tiamat Europe Tour Fall 2026' with support acts Worm and Final Dose - the tour runs from October to November 2026 and includes a date in Copenhagen on November 11.
Wolves in the Throne Room performed as a support act for Emperor on the North American 'In The Nightside Eclipse' tour in May 2025.
The EP 'Crypt of Ancestral Knowledge' was released on September 29, 2023 via Relapse Records with four new tracks ranging from atmospheric black metal to dark acoustic folk and industrial ambient experiments.
