About the venue
Amager Bio on Øresundsvej in Copenhagen S opened as a cinema in 1939-41 and screened films until 1986. Since 1997 the old cinema hall has been one of the city's largest music venues, hosting up to 200 concerts a year. The hall holds 1,250 standing and 680 seated guests and is wider than it is deep, keeping the audience close to the stage. The music programme covers rock, pop, blues, metal, urban and jazz. The smaller venue BETA is attached to the same building.
