Dokhavnen is Esbjerg's oldest harbour basin, built in 1874 on the remains of Esbjerg Kleve. The triangular basin links the city centre with the working port and is flanked by historic harbour buildings. Today it serves as a public urban space and a regular outdoor event venue, hosting activities such as ContainerKUNST during Esbjerg Festival. The footbridge Landgangen connects Dokhavnen directly to the city centre.
