The former Horsens State Prison opened in 1853 and served as a working prison for over 150 years before closing in 2006. Since 2012 the buildings have been home to FÆNGSLET, which houses Europe's largest prison museum, a concert venue, conference facilities, a brasserie and overnight stays in the original cells. Acts such as Metallica have performed within its historic walls.
