Hvalsø Bibliotek is a branch of Lejre Bibliotek & Arkiv, housed as its own unit within the local Kulturhus on Skolevej. The lounge area offers a view over the nearby lake and playground, and the building's entrance is marked by a facade of birdhouses made from reclaimed wood. The library also has its own garden. Beyond lending books and other materials, it regularly hosts workshops, exhibitions and talks, and serves as a gathering place for local families.
