Søby Brunkulsmuseum lies by the old lignite pits at Søby near Herning and tells the story of brown coal extraction in central Jutland. During and after the Second World War the coal was an important fuel, since imported coal and coke were hard to get. The museum shows tools, photographs and stories from the work in the pits and the life around them.
