About the venue

Trelleborg is one of Denmark's best-preserved Viking ring fortresses, built around 980 AD under Harald Bluetooth. Its layout follows a precise geometric plan with four gates and a circular rampart, and it gives its name to the whole class of similar fortresses found across Scandinavia. The site today functions as an open-air museum with reconstructed longhouses and finds from archaeological excavations.
