TALK & PERFORMANCE: Sisters Hope LIFE - Poetic Self Exercise & Talk with Emma Holten

The Poetic Self is not fiction, but an inherent poetic potential - a new mental ecology. What happens if we begin to take the poetic, sensuous, and caring seriously as organizing principles for society? This is the question at the heart of this evening.

The museum opens at 18:00. At 19:00, a conversation in Danish begins between Gry Worre Hallberg and Emma Holten, followed by a performative exercise on the mezzanine - this part takes place in English. The conversation explores how the body, care, and imagination can gain defining weight over economic rationality, and how art and political action can bring us closer to poetic and caring ways of living.

Emma Holten is a feminist activist, author, and gender-policy advisor. She has worked extensively with gender, power, and economics and is the author of Underskud, in which she examines concepts of value and care work and critiques the accounting models that underpin our social organization. Gry Worre Hallberg is the artistic director of the performance group Sisters Hope and has spent many years creating art from the project The Sensuous Society - a society where the poetic and sensuous are guiding principles. In her artistic PhD, she has explored how art can create alternative ways of sensing and understanding the world.
