Concert with Maria Montell

Maria Montell has been a distinctive voice on the Danish music scene for over 30 years as a soloist and songwriter. She has released eight albums and created hits such as "Jeg er her for dig", "Svært at være gudinde", "Her er gude godt at være" and "Kys mig op til himlen" - songs that were among P3's most played in the 1990s. Her enduring hit "Di Da Di" is still played across much of Europe and South America.

Jazz was a constant part of Maria's childhood, and her love for the genre continues to shape her music. In recent years, she has established herself as a jazz singer, including through Benjamin Koppel's Jazz Galla. She also has a particular fondness for bossa nova, which is evident on the critically acclaimed album "Bossa for My Baby".

Live, she blends folk-pop, funky bossa and jazz, and over the past couple of years she and her band have performed over 100 concerts. Maria Montell also writes songs for both Danish and international artists.
