Bus Trip with Lundbyekomiteen: A Musical Story-Concert at Knabstrup Manor

Biblioteksklubben and Lundbyekomiteen organize a joint Sunday bus trip to Knabstrup Manor. The ticket costs 395 kr. and covers transport, the event at the manor, coffee and cake, and a book to take home.

Knabstrup Manor has belonged to the Lunn family for 250 years as of early September 2026, and the anniversary is marked with a newly written fairy tale. Author Jens Balslev has written "The Shoes and the Ring" for the occasion, weaving together the manor's history, historical figures, and local myths - including painter J. Th. Lundbye's connection to the widow's seat Dortheaslyst and his fascination with the troll figure Sindre, which among other things gave its name to Lundbye's Høj. Actor and artistic director Brian Kristensen from Holbæk Teater reads the story in the manor's stable building, while Jesper Balslev - who created the Sindre concert at the latest Lundbye festival in Kalundborg - performs his own music to accompany the text.

Following this is a guided tour of the newly renovated main building, which illuminates the manor's history from the breeding of Knabstrupper horses in the early 1800s to the people who lived there, and displays paintings by J. Th. Lundbye and P.C. Skovgaard among others. Participants are divided into two groups so everyone experiences the tour, coffee and cake, and a walk in the park. Everyone also receives a copy of the book publication featuring Balslev's story, illustrated by visual artist Maja Lisa Engelhardt.

3:10 PM - tour for group 1 (approx. 45 min.) / coffee and cake for group 2, free time in the park

4:10 PM - tour for group 2 (approx. 45 min.) / coffee and cake for group 1, free time in the park

5:20 PM - departure towards Svebølle/Kalundborg
