Filip Vest: Hjertet På Ærmet

The performance is structured as a party that suddenly falls apart - that moment when you share too much, suddenly remember your own mortality, or simply sit with a broken heart. 'Heart on Your Sleeve' circles around the ecstasy of the party, but also the discomfort and loneliness hidden in the party's space.

The work explores the smart and the cringe, the awkward and the vulnerable. Being alternately apathetic and overengaged. Having a slightly too serious conversation between two sips of a drink, ending up crying on the dance floor, wearing the wrong clothes, or waving at someone you didn't actually know.

'Heart on Your Sleeve' was first shown in 2023, presented by Art Hub Copenhagen at Kulturmødet Mors and developed in collaboration with students from Krabbesholm Højskole. Now the work is shown in a new version with students from SGK at Teaterhuset Filuren in Aarhus, with a new soundtrack by Joakim Wei Bernild.

Filip Vest works with performances, installations and film, exploring themes such as identity and work - including the social scripts and structures we take for granted.
