Bat Detector Tour in Sparkær - International Bat Night

We start the tour at the city's new rainwater basin, which borders the wetland. Then we walk through the town to "Æ Kanal" and finish at the churchyard and forest. There are good opportunities to hear several bat species, possibly including the extremely rare Natthusius' pipistrelle.

In late August, there are many bats on the wing. The young are flight-ready, and adults and juveniles "swarm" every evening and night to seek food and prepare for winter. We "capture" the bats with a detector and learn about their remarkable lives. Duration approximately 1.5 hours.
