Tour of Stavnsholt Treatment Plant: September 7, 5 PM-7 PM

There has been considerable debate in the media about the condition of Farum Lake and Furesø, particularly during the recent municipal election campaign. Headlines such as "Phosphorus bomb in Farum Lake", "Stop overflows is not enough", and "Let us together stop overflows from 2026" have featured prominently.

But what does Novafos actually do to reduce overflows and other pollution of Farum Lake, Furesø, and Mølleåen? What is the actual environmental condition, and what plans exist to improve efforts?

You can get answers to these and other questions by participating in a tour of Stavnsholt Treatment Plant, one of Denmark's most efficient treatment facilities.

Program:
5 PM-6 PM: Welcome and tour of Stavnsholt Treatment Plant with Novafos. We see and learn about the different stages of wastewater treatment, with opportunities to ask questions.

6 PM-7 PM: Novafos presents plans for improved efforts to reduce pollution of the lakes, approved by the Nature & Climate Committee in June. Additional opportunities for improvement. Novafos explains current investigations. Finally, participants will receive a summary of plans for connecting Farum's wastewater system to a new central water resource centre in Fredensborg. Followed by questions and answers and possible discussion.
